What we know so far

From 1 August 2026, documented Safety Management System obligations extend to solo and small-fleet operators, not just accredited fleets.
Digital record-keeping continues to be favoured over paper — mirroring the shift already seen in NSW's move to mandatory digital certificate lodgement from 1 July 2026.
NHVR's Intercept Outcomes Tool has widened from NHVAS-accredited operators to broader industry access, giving operators more direct visibility of their own compliance history ahead of the changes. Read our explainer →
